The background to the project is to give children from five different school in the area to come together and learn new folk dances and song from the Meirionnydd area. The five schools are ysgol y Clogau, Llanfachreth, Llanelltyd, Y Friog and Ganllwyd. The children will be taught about the background to some of the songs and dances.

The harpist Rhiain Bebb and Celt Roberts who will lead on the dancing will be responsible for these workshops and the children will be with them for three days at Ysgol y Friog, Llanfachreth and Llanelltyd Hall.

The aim is to raise awareness, enthusiasm and perhaps talent within the children taking part and they will hopefully performing one folk dance during the opening of Ty Siamas (14-17 June) on the square in Dolgellau.
