Chris Shaw is now offering a range of tuition and luthiery services for fretted instruments. He has 47 years experience of playing acoustic and electric guitars and basses in a variety of genres including Blues,Folk, Funk, Reggae, Rock, Rock'n'Roll and is currently playing mandolin with The Boggy Mountain Boys. The focus is on learning the instrument and forming a relationship with it, he does not work for exams or grades though instruction in music theory and tablature is available (but not obligatory). His motto is “Music is meant to be a pleasure.” On the luthiery side he ran a repair department (The Guitar Hospital) in a Manchester music store for 10 years and now works from his home workshop.
