Pipes Project

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of 9-11 year old pupils form Ysgol Dolgellau of their musical heritage. During the project the children will have an unique opportunity to make their own instrument, get to know about welsh traditional melodies as well as the instrument’s historic background.

Following this, the children will get a chance to learn to play the instrument and perform a basic tune. The project is led by Ceri Rhys Matthews, the renowned piper and John Evans will be in charge of making the pipes.
